The Risk Awareness Index measures the extent to which individuals and teams within an organisation understand, recognise, and respond to risks that could affect strategic and operational objectives. It evaluates knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours toward risk, reflecting the organisation’s overall risk culture and maturity. A higher index score indicates stronger integration of risk thinking into decision-making, planning, and performance management. The index serves as a diagnostic tool to identify gaps in awareness, guide targeted interventions such as training, policy enhancement, and tool development, and strengthen proactive risk management and organisational resilience.

This Risk Awareness Index consists of ten key assessment areas. For each area, you are required to select the score that best reflects your organization’s current level of risk awareness. Carefully review the five response options and choose only one rating per section, the one that most accurately represents your organization’s position.

1. Risk Culture*

The organisation lacks a formal risk culture. Risk awareness is minimal and not part of daily operations.
