Caroline has twenty (20+) years multi-sectoral and regional professional experience in governance, risk and financial management. She excels at creating systems and processes that bring order, efficiency and profitability to clients’ organizations by helping them manage risks rather than crisis.

Caroline started off her career in Pricewaterhousecoopers (PwC) as an auditor. In her career, she has worked at KPMG East Africa as a Financial Management Specialist and later moved to the position of Senior Manager. She has been a Management Consultant with the European Union.

Caroline is the director at FirstIdea Consulting Limited. The firm offers services in risk advisory and training. Her skills include risk mapping, risk implementation support, risk evaluation, risk monitoring, business continuity plans, public financial management, governance, assessments, training, among others. She has hands-on experience in various sectors and verticals including, manufacturing, education, health, hospitality, county governments, development partners, Not-for-Profit, among others.

Caroline has a master’s degree in Financial Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She is a Certified Public accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) and an International Diploma and International Certificate for Enterprise Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management in the United Kingdom. She holds a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management and a practicing Human Resource Professional. She is a certified trainer with the International Labor Organization (ILO) under the Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB), a programme which is an Internationally recognized program. She is a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Risk Management - UK, a Committee Member of Business Continuity Institute (BCI) East Africa, Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK), the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management, the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) and the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).

Caroline’s professional experience spans Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Malawi, Burundi, Somalia, South Sudan, Ghana and Tanzania.

Kennedy Wachira is a Financial Accountant and has extensive experience in private sector accounting, auditing, financial management, administration and capacity building for the last twenty-five (25) years, mainly gained while working and consulting for private enterprises, NGO organizations, donor funded programs, professional firms and cooperative societies in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and South Africa. He has strong skills in donor accounting and financial management systems. Mr. Wachira has a working knowledge of QuickBooks, ACCPAC, IMIS, MS Excel, and Word.

cKennedy Wachira is a Certified Public Accountant (CPAK), and holds a Master’s Degrees in Business Administration (Strategic management). He has extensive work experience from Githongo & Co Auditors, KK & Co CPA East Africa and American Center for International Labor Solidarity – ACILS. He has held various positions, including Head of Finance and Administration and Field Accountant. He has been responsible for managing program budgets, office procurement, staff payroll, program sub-grants to partner organizations, interaction with financial and administrative matters, training of staff and partners on policies and procedures and USAID Rules & Regulations, preparation of program consultant contracts, supervision of administrative and finance staff, and preparation of regular financial reports for audit purposes.

He has also conducted audits of medium and large private companies, NGOs, donor projects, co-operative societies, and public enterprises. His work has involved planning, supervision, client liaison, and quality control reviews. Mr. Wachira is an associate director at FirstIdea Consulting Limited.

Agnes is a Private Sector Expert with more than 10 years’ experience. She joined First Idea Consulting seven years ago, after several years in the public sector working for Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI).

Agnes is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, Finance Option. She has gained extensive experience in the field of accounting and finance, having worked as a Risk Advisor at FirstIdea Consulting Limited. In their role as a Senior Risk Advisor/Accountant, she has been involved in various consulting assignments, including reviewing and designing financial procedures, conducting QuickBooks training, performing data entry and reconciliations, and preparing financial reports. She has also been involved in conducting needs assessments, facilitating self-assessments, and providing capacity building support to organizations in areas such as governance, finance, procurement, human resources, and security management. Agnes is a Senior Risk Advisor at FirstIdea Consulting Limited.

Glorian is a minded individual with experience in financial management. She has high-level technical skills across a broad range of functional activities and can operate within strict operational and management guidelines. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and a CPA III qualification.

She has extensive experience in risk advisory, business development and consulting. She has been involved in the reviewing and development of policies and procedures in the areas of Governance, Finance and Procurement for organizations in the NGO and Private sector. Glorian has skills in the development of training materials both for the Finance sector and Not for Profit sector. She has hands-on experience in preparation of proposals, internal payroll and payments and other related financial status updates, preparation of manuals, research and setting up internal controls. Glorian is a Risk Advisor at FirstIdea Consulting Limited.

Sybil has five (5) years multi-sectoral and regional professional experience in program coordination and management, with a focus on, community development, fundraising and partnerships, administration, team building research and training. She excels at coordination and planning, and to mobilize people and help organizations achieve their goals. She has hands on experience working with NGOs and experiential learning organizations. She has extensive skill in: capacity building programs, resource mobilizations, teambuilding, event management, partnership outreach, proposal writing amongst others.

Sybil holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Integrated Community Development and a short course certificate for Trade and Gender Linkages in Least Developing Countries by UNCTAD. She has worked with organizations such as OWIT, Outburst Limited and Undugu Society of Kenya where she has contributed to the development and implementation of various programs and events. She has a proven track record of successful fundraising and have developed strong relationships with potential donors and sponsors, cultivating and stewarding these relationships over time. Sybil is a Risk Advisor at FirstIdea Consulting Limited.
